夜风吹拂着，吹过寂寥的平原和沧桑的城郭，吹过川西的荒山和野岭，吹过家乡的竹林和茅舍，也吹过山脚下那魏河里冰凉的河水，宛若在低吟着一支古老而苍凉的葬歌。

周兴和倒在血泊中时，他似乎还感觉不到什么痛苦，眼前什么都看不见，什么都嗅不到，他看到的只是像黑白电视屏幕上的雪花，白蒙蒙一片。不知过了多久，一股冷气从头部缓缓流到了心脏，一瞬间，他就什么都不知道了。

这一回，周兴和见到了离世多年的父亲母亲，以及不知是不是他从未见过的年老的祖父和祖母……啊，父亲母亲，你们生了我养了我，让我来到这个世界，把我养大成人，按照你们的教诲，我周兴和一辈子不欺不诈不奸不骄不奢，勤勤快快做事，堂堂正正做人，可为什么会活得这么艰难哪！在周兴和的记忆中，自从他降生在那个破烂的土窖，来到这个世界，这个世界似乎给予他的只有贫穷、饥饿、疾病、苦痛、烦恼、灾祸、生离、死别、血痕、泪水……并没有给他留下几许值得流连的东西。

2001年2月9日，由于周兴和支付供货商的材料款，没征得妻子同意，妻子在旁人的撺掇和怂恿下，拿走了保险柜里的现金，又要开走厂里的1辆高级轿车，当双方正在争执时，小申姐姐的儿子突然从斜里插入，提着刀不由分说对着周兴和上身连刺了几刀！这几刀，刺得好狠！刀刀见血，刀刀致命！经司法鉴定，肝肺刺穿，动脉血管刺断，失血4500毫升，属于重伤。

见此情形，在场的所有人都猝不及防，全都惊呆了，眼睁睁看着凶手提着带血的刀不敢上前。周兴和捂住伤口，眼睛愤怒地盯住凶手，倒在了血泊中。医院在抢救周兴和的过程中，他伤口的血流如注，呼吸极度困难，心脏停止跳动15秒钟——离奇的是，正当抢救的医生们在挤压他心脏，几乎已经感到绝望时，他停止跳动的心脏，竟然在15秒后又重新跳动起来！

Strangely, just when the doctors were pressing his heart and almost feeling desperate, his heart beated again after stopped for 15 seconds!

“这种事情，在我们这家医院里，恐怕还是个奇迹！”抢救他的医生事后这样对周兴和的家人这样说道。

其实，在妻子失踪的几个月里，在周兴和焦急寻找妻子的过程中，重庆的朋友们就真诚地劝告过他，像他这样由于经济纠纷、家人插手其中的矛盾，已经发展到卷款失踪这样严重的程度，一般情况下是很难调和的，最好的办法就是早点分手，免得酿成更严重的后果。可周兴和善良了一点，自信了一些，太相信他与妻子的感情，太相信他们之间的感情能够弥合经济上的分歧，所以才酿成灭顶之灾。杀人的事件发生后，朋友们感叹道：人家公开刺杀虽说刀刀见血，倒还是来在明处，你死也死得明白；假若像武大郎生病那样，有人在你汤药里放点砒霜之类，叫你周兴和不明不白喝下肚皮，那你就死得更冤枉了。
